The wildlife of the Sedona area is diverse and abundant. It is not unusual to see javelinas, sometimes with their babies. Once we saw a skunk strolling through a parking lot in uptown when we were returning to our car (return delayed!). Other animals include deer, snakes and lizards, barking frogs, rabbits, black bears, squirrels, ringtails, raccoons, mountain lions, coyotes, and many birds including eagles. This diversity is because of the varied habitat of the area.
